Malaysia’s Lincoln University College became the first international institution to apply to establish a campus in India using the University Grants Commission’s (UGC) special application platform.
The UGC has received an application from Malaysia’s Lincoln University College to establish a campus in Telangana, according to Union Education Minister of State Subhas Sarkar, who was responding to a question in the Lok Sabha on Monday. “The site for applications to establish FHEIs (Foreign Higher Education Institutions) campuses in India has been established by the University Grants Commission, or UGC. He stated that Lincoln University College, Malaysia, had submitted a proposal to establish a campus in Telangana.
According to Subject 2023, Lincoln University College is rated 301-340th in the QS World University Rankings. The university is ranked in the Times Higher Education World Rankings between 300 and 400.Though a few foreign educational institutions have visited the homepage to learn about the requirements for applying to establish campuses in India, only Lincoln University College has applied thus far.
