Over 25 lakh aspirants to become medical students have registered for the NEET UG 2024 test, a considerable rise over the numbers from the previous year.
Exams.nta.ac.in/NEET is the official website where interested students may register for the NEET UG 2024 test until March 16, 2024. A deadline extension was implemented until March 9, 2024, due to the large volume of applications received. According to many media sources, more than 25 lakh prospective medical students have already registered for the NEET UG 2024 test, a significant rise of 4.20 lakh applications over the previous year’s numbers.
Interestingly, women make up over 55% of candidates, suggesting that the number of women taking the medical admission test has increased significantly. The increasing openness and diversity in the medical industry is reflected in this trend. Aspiring physicians have several options for admission to medical institutions in India, where there are more than 1 lakh seats available.
In order to ensure a fair and equal distribution, the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) allots 15% of the quota seats for the NEET counseling procedure. The remaining 85% of state seats are distributed by the appropriate state authorities.
